Man Utd Clinch Second Place After Stalemate With West Ham

sport Manchester United have sealed second spot in the Premier League after playing to a 0-0 draw with West Ham United at the London Stadium on Thursday.Jose Mourinho opted to start Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard up front, as Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford dropped to the bench.Marko Arnautovic nearly opened the scoring for the Hammers in the sixth minute with a low strike that forced goalkeeper David De Gea into a good save.

The Red Devils started to utilise the wings after 20 minutes and almost got the breakthrough after the hosts' goalkeeper sport Adrian made a double save to deny Alexis Sanchez and Luke Shaw in quick succession.Jose Mourinho’s charges had a good spell with 10 minutes left to play and had the game by the scruff of the neck but could not carve out clear-cut chances.

Paul Pogba fancied his chances for the Red Devils five minutes before time with a stinging low shot from range but he missed the target by inches, before Adrian did well to keep out Lingard's strike moments later.Lingard was at it again 10 minutes after the restart with a strike from range but Adrian was equal to the task.Pogba squandered a glorious chance to hand the visitors the lead after 63 minutes, as he fired wide at the far post after being picked out by Antonio Valencia.

As the second half went on, chances sport were hard to come by the both sides, which prompted Mourinho to introduce Rashford for Lingard, while the Hammers introduced Andy Carroll.Despite the late changes from both sides, chances were few and far between in the closing stages and the sides had to settle for a point each. The point sees the Red Devils clinch second spot, their highest finish since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013.

West Ham hosts Man City in a Friday night special. Payet will look to establish himself early since he missed the last encounter. I see him having a big game scoring/assisting. West Ham will go out to score today and leave themselves open a bit in the back to give Man City more chance at at goal. 2-2 game.
